Genesis 1:6-19

.

2nd Day

God said & made – expanse between the waters

God called expanse sky

Mysterious – does water have to do with energy conduit between the natural and spiritual dimensions? Are there any physicists among us?

.
3rd Day

God said – let water gather and let dry land appear

God called it earth and seas

God saw that it was good

God said – let earth produce vegetation – seed bearing plants

God saw that it was good

Amazing to think that God made every kind of plant; tree; fruit; grass; flower; shrub on day three. I can’t even wrap my head around the variety that He created, not to mention that the science behind botany is astounding. And to think that wasn’t the only thing he did on day three. Does anyone have expertise in the area of botany?  We’d love to hear what you have to share.

.

4th Day

God said – lights in sky to separate day from night; serve as signs for festivals, days and years; to provide light on earth;

God made – two great lights – sun and moon

God saw that it was good

Astronomy has always been a favorite subject of mine.  When I see the photos from the Hubble telescope I experience a true reverence and fear of God.  How does thinking about the universe make you feel and what thoughts about God does it inspire in you?

As I’ve entered the land of Israel to live I’ve found the Lord encouraging me to remove any sort of religious traditions from the foundations of my spiritual life. He wants to re-ground me His Word. It seems like my life revolves around the weekly Shabbat/Sabbath (7th day of the week-Saturday) and New Moon, which exist so we know what month it is, so that ultimately we can follow God’s prophetic calendar.

God wants to re-establish Yeshua/Jesus and the Word of God as my only foundation.  I believe He wants that for everyone.  We humans complicate things.  God’s ways are simple.

How do you see your spiritual devotion complicated?

How can you simplify it?

On Monday (the day after we did this bible study together) this is the Psalm that I was reading in my morning devotions.  I love how God puts the jigsaw puzzle pieces in our life together, so that we can worship and glorify, and our enjoy our relationship with Him even more! It’s so very prophetic that I read this Psalm this day. It’s pregnant with message and application to my life right now.  HalleluYah! Enjoy…

Psalm 147 (The Passion Translation)
OUR AMAZING GOD

Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
How beautiful it is when we sing our praises
To the beautiful God;
For praise makes you lovely before him
And brings him great delight!
The Lord builds up Jerusalem,
And gathers up the outcasts, and brings them home!
He heals the wounds of every shattered heart.
He sets all his stars in place,
Calling them all by their names.
How great is our God!
There’s absolutely nothing his power cannot accomplish,
And he has infinite understanding of everything.
God supports and strengthens the humble,
But the ungodly will be brought down to the dust.
Sing out with songs of thanksgiving to the Lord!
Let’s sing our praises with melodies overflowing!
He fills the sky with clouds, sending showers to water the earth;
So that the grass springs up on the mountain fields,
And the earth produces food for man.
All the birds and beasts who cry with hunger to him
Are fed from his hands.
His people don’t find security in strong horses,
For horse-power is nothing to him.
Man-power is even less impressive!
The Lord shows favor to those who fear him;
His godly lovers who wait for his tender embrace.
Jerusalem, praise the Lord!
Zion, worship your God!
For he has strengthened the authority of your gates.
He even blesses you with more children.
He’s the One who brings peace to your borders,
Feeding you the most excellent of fare.
He sends out his orders throughout the world;
His words run as swift messengers bringing them to pass.
He blankets the earth with glistening snow,
Painting the landscape with frost.
Sleet and hail fall from the sky,
Causing waters to freeze before winter’s icy blast.
Then he speaks his word and it all melts away;
As the warm spring winds blow, the streams begin to flow.
In the same way he speaks to his people and to Israel,
Bringing them his life-giving words.
He has dealt with Israel
Differently than with any other people,
For they have received his laws.
Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
