MISSION:LOVE 10
“If you had been the only person on the face of the earth, God loves you so much that He would have sent Jesus to die for you and you alone!”
Joyce Meyer’s small booklet entitled “Tell Them That I Love Them” changed my life. Growing up in a world that had such a perverted view of love, and in a family that didn’t have Christ’s love, caused me to literally look for love in all the wrong places. When I came to understand the truth about God’s love for me, it revolutionized my life. Still to this day, God’s love for me enthralls and amazes me.
When we read the Scriptures we need to personalize what’s said in them. For example: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him would not perish, but would have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) Who is “the world?” It’s you! Jesus died for you! God loves you that much! We all need a revelation of that truth. God loved us while we were yet sinners. (Romans 5:8) Guess what that proves? We don’t have to earn God’s love. (Ephesians 2:4-8) He loves us because He is our Heavenly Father. (1 John 3:2) And, as our Father God wants to be in relationship with us. (John 17:3) It’s our choice to love God back and to trust Him and what He’s done for us. By embracing His love, fear is eradicated from our lives. (1 John 4:18) His Love transforms us and as we see our lives changed by His Love (2 Corinthians 3:18) we’re drawn to love Him more and more.
