MISSION:DOER 2

The Bible has many different names. Sometimes it’s called the Holy Scriptures, the Scriptures, the Word, God’s Word, etc. All these refer to a collection of 66 books and letters written over a time span of more than 1500 years by 40 different human authors. The authors came from different walks of life and backgrounds, but the thematic consistency that threads through the books is just one of the proofs that they were divinely inspired. Though men “penned” these books, the true author is our Creator, God.

God’s Word walks us through history; from creation through to the end of time as we know it. As well as being historic books, and books of instruction, God’s Word contains prophesies written by prophets to teach God’s commandments and laws and to communicate God’s plans about Israel, the Messiah and all People.

Prophesies are predictions of future events, or the speaking of divine words (divine revelation) through human messengers (prophets) chosen by God.

The Bible is divided into 2 major sections; the Old and New Testaments. The two beautifully weave together to support and confirm each other as being the entire Word of God, and the truth.
