I was battle weary from the last 2 years when I arrived at the retreat. Faith has a gift of encouraging you to be yourself. The retreat involved deep honest open sharing with the group which helped me to stop focusing on my perceived failures of this last season. Faith has a way to value every contribution and include everyone’s sharing and yet accept those on the retreat who just want to be quiet or rest.
Faith’s presentation and stewardship of the Spirit of God in her really made no room for chaos or pettiness at the retreat, which I’ve seen in other gatherings of this kind. The retreat helped me align with my purpose here and with God’s desire for me.
I came to the Mission Discipleship retreat expecting a nice time. My biggest surprise was found in deepening my relationship with the others in attendance. It was a great atmosphere for strengthening ties within the Body.
The retreat was exactly what I needed—a beautiful, peaceful setting that allowed me to slow down and hear from the Lord about my circumstances, my identity, and what lies ahead. It was also deeply encouraging to be surrounded by like-minded people in an environment where everyone felt free to be themselves and connect on a meaningful level.
