Family life today is under attack. Families are divided by divorce, there’s a serious crisis in roles, absence of parents, a breakdown of authority, preoccupation with things, inadequate time together, financial pressures, and a host of other problems. The Bible teaches that the institution of family is God’s design. The Bible also provides guidelines for good relations within the family. A commitment to the Bible’s teachings and principles provides today’s best hope for the recovery of family life, which is where true discipleship begins.  God puts the lonely and fatherless in families (Psalm 68:6) because His design is for us to live and learn together in groups.  Genesis 11:6 teaches us that for a people united nothing will be impossible for them, and conversely in Matthew 12:25 we learn that a kingdom divided against itself will not stand.  As Messiah’s Disciples lets be people who stand up for what God stands for, and let us do everything to regain the foundation of the family in our communities!
